Chaz Howkins
Chaz Howkins is a queer visual artist based in Leicestershire. Howkins' work primarily consists of self portraiture; they have been creating a daily self portrait everyday since January 1st 2021. So far, they have created over 1400 self portraits as part of this ongoing project.
Their earlier work focused on gender, exploring the difference between gender expression and gender identity; often using installation and manipulated readymades to examine and critique the segregation of gender in public spaces, particularly public bathrooms.
